Paris has always been one of our favourite cities! We first visited Paris together less than a year into our relationship (it was the first trip we took together) and we keep finding reasons to go back!
But after my coeliac diagnosis, I wasn’t sure I’d be able to enjoy the city as I used to; I knew that in general, French food culture isn’t always the most accommodating when it comes to dietary restrictions and that finding coeliac safe restaurants could be difficult.
However, through doing some research, we found some incredible gluten free restaurants in Paris that are fully coeliac safe and if anything, it’s made us fall in love with the city even more!
These are our recommendations for gluten free food in Paris!

Restaurants
Little Nonna
Av. Niel, 75017 – near Arc de Triomphe
In our opinion, the best gluten free pizza in Paris is served at Little Nonna! A short walk from the Arc de Triomphe, this fully gluten free Italian restaurant serves proper wood-fired pizza — the kind you usually have to miss out on when you’re coeliac. The crust was crispy on the outside, soft in the middle, and honestly on par with (or better than) most “regular” pizzas I remember from my pre-coeliac days (Martin agrees!). Everything on the menu is gluten free so there’s no risk of cross-contact and the whole restaurant feels incredibly safe! The location also feels so Parisian, with window seats and a terrace that opens onto the pavement. It’s a 10 minute walk from Arc de Triomphe so it fit in well our itinerary too!
Loulou
Bd Saint-Germain, 75005 – near Notre Dame
Loulou has to be one of the best gluten free brunch spots in Paris – we’ve visited here a few times because this really is one of our favourites! Most of the menu is gluten free, and they really understand how to cater for dietary restrictions. We most recently came for brunch and loved everything we had including the eggs benedict, club sandwich, coffee and gluten free cakes. They say it’s Australian inspired but it still feels very Parisian to us; with a lovely terrace to sit in the sun and enjoy taking in the city.
Tasca
Av. de Suffren, 75015 – near Eiffel Tower
Tasca is a fully gluten free Italian restaurant with a huge menu, including pizza, salads and lots of fresh pasta dishes and it’s only a 10 minute walk from the Eiffel Tower! We’ve visited here a few times now and have enjoyed everything we tried but for me, the star is the gluten free ravioli since it’s usually so hard to find. They also offer the best gluten free tiramisu, so make sure you save room for dessert! It’s a very popular but also very small restaurant so we’d highly recommend booking ahead if you’re planning on visiting.
Lou Cantou
Rue de Provence, 75009 – near Palais Garnier
Lou Cantou is an authentic French restaurant in Paris. It’s not 100% gluten free, but it is one of the rare places in Paris serving traditional French food with a strong understanding of coeliac and other dietary requirements. Located a short walk from Opéra Garnier and Galeries Lafayette, Lou Cantou is tucked into a charming corner of the city and has a lovely atmosphere. When we visited, the waiters were reassuring and helpful about what was safe for me. Most of the menu is naturally gluten free or can be adapted, but be aware that the fryer is not dedicated GF, so some items are not safe for coeliacs. That said, I had a safe, delicious meal here, and it’s a great option if you’ve been searching for something more traditionally French.
Il Quadrifoglio
Bd Bourdon, 75004 – near Place de la Bastille
Il Quadrifoglio is a coeliac-safe Italian restaurant tucked into a quiet part of the city near Bastille, serving classic pizza and pasta with most of the menu available gluten free. I had the lasagna and it was so good — the kind of comfort food you usually have to skip when travelling gluten free. The waiters were really helpful and I felt confident ordering knowing they understood coeliac needs and cross-contact. It’s a cosy, local-feeling spot with a relaxed atmosphere and generous, well-made food. The gluten free options certainly didn’t feel like an afterthought!
Kapunka Thai
51 Rue Saint-Sauveur, 75002 – near Châtelet
Kapunka is an adorable little Thai restaurant in the centre of Paris. The whole restaurant is 100% gluten free so it’s very safe for coeliacs. They have quite an extensive menu so there’s plenty to choose from. All the food we had was delicious and authentically Thai (chicken satay, yelllow curry and pad Thai). We’ve visited here after a long travel day and this was exactly what we needed! We’d definitely recommend Kapunka for coeliacs visiting Paris!

Cafes
Copains
Various locations across Paris
Our gluten free Paris guide wouldn’t be complete without our favourite bakery; Copains. They make some of the best gluten free pastries and breads we’ve ever tried! With locations across the city, Copains is usually how we start our days in Paris; we pick up pastries and coffee for breakfast and I wrap up a sandwich to take with me for lunch so I don’t need to worry about finding good, safe food whilst I’m out and about. They have a huge selection of pastries, breads, sandwiches and patisseries. Our favourites are the pain suisse, babka and apple pie but despite visiting almost every day of our last few trips to Paris, we still haven’t tried the whole selection – I think we’ll just need to keep going back!
Grom
Various locations across Paris
Grom is an Italian gelataria chain with locations across Europe, including Paris. Everything they sell is gluten free (including the cones, if they have them) so you don’t need to worry about cross contact at all and the gelato itself is such good quality. They have a huge number of flavours to choose from; we liked the stracciatella, pistachio and hazelnut! The location we visited in Marais near Hôtel de Ville only had the individual ice cream tubs, rather than cones, but it was still a lovely treat to have on a hot summer’s day. For tennis fans, they had a full Grom stand at Roland Garros, which was such a lovely surprise!
